R.I.P. Mario de Miranda,
1926-2011


Mario Miranda, the legendary Indian cartoonist and illustrator, died last week in his hometown, in the idyllic coastal state of Goa.   1. It is a crime that I have never heard of such a wonderful artist. America remains isolated from the cultures of so many countries in terms of art, literature, music.

  3. Patti & Charles, I'm glad you liked Mario Miranda's art. A self-trained artist, he was always different from the rest, his caricatures usually depicting the hustle-bustle of daily life. His cartoons were never complete without buxom women, dogs, cats, cows, and birds.
