I can't leave a comment...
Blogger has tweaked something, somewhere. Google's blog-publishing service has been rejecting my comments on other blogs that require word verification. I have no problem commenting on blogs where I don't have to prove I'm not a robot. I tried to leave comments through a PC and two laptops just in case there was something amiss with the one I use. No luck. There are no such issues with Wordpress, though. I can't think of a solution at the moment. Do you have one? Many thanks...
I started having trouble reading the darn twisted lettering and fuzzy numbers to get through the verification process. I think blogger has made it harder; maybe only a robot can read them now.
ReplyDeleteRon, I keep refreshing the letters till I find one I can decipher. I didn't realise that I have to jot down the number too in addition to verifying the illegible letters until I read Seana's comment below. The number counts too. I just didn't see it, did I?
DeleteI do not like the word verification thing so I do not use it on my blog-I do moderate comments to blog spam.
ReplyDeleteMel, my blog comments are open to all sans word verification or moderation and so far I haven't had any problems. I hope it stays that way.
DeleteI've had a bit more trouble commenting recently too. For me, it was that I'd realized that the number didn't count for anything, but recently it's taken the number, which is sometimes quite poorly photographed, as well.
ReplyDeleteRather than 'please prove you aren't a robot', the trend seems to be 'please prove that you ARE a robot'--with a transhuman scanning system...
Seana, thanks for bringing the number bit to my notice. I can now comment on other blogs without hassle. I wonder at Blogger's logic behind the word and number verification.
DeleteI wish I had the energy and wherewithal to change to word press. I bought a book on it, but there it sits.
ReplyDeletePatti, I'm tempted to switch over to Wordpress too; perhaps, I'll use it for another blog I have in mind.
DeleteThis happened to me as well about two weeks ago. It was very frustrating. There is one blog in particular that I can never comment on still.
ReplyDeleteMystica, the new word verification by Blogger defies all logic. On the whole I haven't had a problem commenting on other blogs.
DeleteI had this problem for a while, Prashant. I think switching to Google Chrome fixed that in the end, though I don't know if it was a fluke... :-) Blogger is user-friendly most days, but when it isn't, it's a real pain...
ReplyDeleteHope you find a solution!
F.T. Bradley, thanks very much for following my blog. I have been using Google Chrome for nearly two years now and though it gobbles up memory I still prefer it to IE. I have never had problems with Blogger before so I guess this was a one-off thing. I did fail to notice the new number verification, though.
DeleteGlad to have discovered your blog!
ReplyDeleteWanted to drop a remark.I bought to admit that your blog is truly informative.
