Charles, you'll love Sudden if you haven't read the series before. English writer Oliver Strange never travelled to the US and yet his description of the wild west landscape is pretty spot-on, the characters quite real, and the lingo, well, that's one of the things you'll like about Sudden books. I hope you get to read about the adventures of the two-gun Texas outlaw. I wrote about this absorbing series previously, at www.chesscomicsandcrosswords.blogspot.com/2010/12/sudden-outlawed-and-out-of-print-last.html.
Thanks, Mr. Reasoner. I started reading Sudden in my early teens and haven't stopped since. I've often pictured Clint Eastwood as Sudden. Wonder why they never made a film based on Sudden.
"Sudden?" There's a series I don't know anything about. I'll have to look those up.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your family the best for the season.
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice assortment of books.
ReplyDeleteI've read a couple of the Sudden books and enjoyed them.

ReplyDeleteMel, thank you! It's just something I put together over the weekend. I'm also sorry I deleted your comment by mistake.
ReplyDelete'Sudden' is my favorite too, epitomizes the lone ranger image of the west.
ReplyDeleteSeems like there is no 'J.T Edson'?
WordsBeyondBorders: I read very few J.T. Edson whose books never appealed to me.
